I found out today
that this coming Monday,
our life will be put on hold for 2 semesters.
Roughly 9 months.
The house hunting will be put on hold.
My shopping extravaganzas will be put on hold.
Eating out every weekend will be put on hold.
Weekend trips will be put on hold.
I found out last Friday,
that I was accepted into an LPN to RN program.
I got my class schedule this past Tuesday.
Was told that it starts this coming Monday,
and realized that I would have to miss 16 hours of work per week.
I explained the situation to my workplace.
And I found out today that they won't be able to work with that.
So.
On Monday we will have one income.
Which isn't horrible...
but of course,
two incomes are always better than one.
I just keep telling myself that in the long run,
it will pay off.
Because it will.
If all goes as planned,
when May 2013 rolls around,
I will be Autumn Ingram, RN.
I'm excited.
And nervous.
And anxious.
Bring on the all-nighters.
OH!
I made dinner again last night.
Actually, I put it in the crock pot yesterday morning.
I found a pot roast recipe that took 2 ingredients.
It made it's own sauce.
I sauteed onions to put on top.
And paired it with corn on the cob and baked potatoes!
Ty has always lathered BBQ sauce on his pot roast...
but yesterday,
he didn't use any!
Dinner #2 = success.
It totally looks like he has a massive unibrow. I promise he doesn't. |

Well done in getting in to your course. It may seem daunting now, but as you say - it will pay off. All the best!
Congrats! It WILL pay off:) Good for you, girl. & the dinner looks yummy!
Congratulations! And good luck, too. I know you'll do just great! Being on one income isn't all that bad. :) You'll get an awesome opportunity to improve your cooking skills and grow your hubby's tummy!
congratulations on getting into your program! it will pay off very soon for you I'm sure :-)
Congrads on getting accepted into the program. We'll both be graduating at the same time next year. P.s your post roast looks yummy.
Congrats on getting in the program, what a great accomplishment. And good job at looking to the positive side of the whole one income situation. You guys will adjust just fine and it will be SO worth it! : ) And, that dinner looks delish!
Congratulations! Nursing is wonderful! You're going to do great and it's so worth it ..the beauty of nursing is the variety of areas you can go into! Best of luck in everything!! And congrats on another successful dinner;)

congratulations!!! you'll be back to two incomes in 9 months. and then you can give your workplace a nice middle finger for not accommodating you ;)
Hahaha;)
Hi Autumn, this is very random... I found you when I was searching online to see if anyone else had the same blog name as me... I heard horror stories with things like "cease and desist" letters when people steal others' names... anyway clearly we pretty much share a name but I can't figure out who had it first... but if you're cool, I'm cool. :) I don't see any trademark lawsuits in our futures, do you?
I just wanted to congratulate you on getting in to this program. I'm a little older than you, I'm an RN, and I cantell you this is SO WORTH IT. Putting your "life on hold" feels really difficult but believe me, you will be so glad you did it. There is just NOTHING that compares to signing "RN" after your name!!!!!!
AND, don't give up - just because your employer couldn't hang with it doesn't mean you can't find something temporary in the mean time. I am going back for my masters degree and same thing happened to me, so I started working as a sub nurse for my school system. When you're in need, God will provide - but you already know that.
God bless & GOOD LUCK!!! :)
