Our internet has been messed up for the past 2 days.
Yuck.
It's finally fixed, though!
Guess what I did yesterday?
I got up at 5AM and I was at the gym by 6AM.
Crazy huh?
I honestly can't remember the last time I went to the gym.
Every time I start, I go for 2 weeks and then stop.
I really want to stay motivated this time!
I get a free membership through the clinic I work for,
and I would be insane not to take advantage of it.
So I was at the gym at 6AM.
I worked out for about an hour and I started getting ready for work at 7.
I was ready at 8, and I headed to my car.
I tossed my duffel bag on my seat and proceeded to sit in front/ on top of it.
Why didn't I toss it in the back or in the passenger side seat?
I'm not sure.
So I sat down and pulled the door shut.
The door didn't shut.
Why?
Because my knee was in the way!
How did I manage to get my knee in the hinge of my door and not realize it?
I don't know.
All I know is that I smashed the guts out of my knee.
It felt like hitting your funny bone multiplied by 1000.
I crouched down to intensely rub my knee as I said words that I needed to ask forgiveness for.
Rubbing (and language) didn't help AT ALL.
I didn't want to be late for work, so decided to suck it up.
I sat up and turned my car on.
At that moment, a sharp pain went from my knee cap, all the way to my thigh.
Everything went black,
and I proceeded to start falling to the side.
I knew I was passing out, so I quickly put my seat all the way back and put my legs on top of the steering wheel.
I came back to the world around 8:15.
Yeah.
Then I headed to work.
Then I headed to work.
I'm not sure how I did it, but I did it; and I probably couldn't do it again if I tried.
Yesterday wasn't a very good day.
I was going to go to the gym again this morning,
but yesterday was too traumatic.
I might go tomorrow.
Do you all have any exercise tips or good ways to stay motivated?
Have you all ever smashed a body part in your car door?
I hope you have a great day; and I hope you don't smash any of your body parts in your car door!

awww poor girl! I hope your knee is feeling better today! I would kill to be able to get in the routine of early morning workouts. This would require me to get up at 5:15 though and I just can't do it. I have tried, but I am unsuccessful. I guess I will just stick to after work workouts for now.
My exercise tip is "Don't exercise!" No, I kid, I always have to go running in the evening because I cannot get up that early in the morning (I just realised basically the same as the person above me, but hey!!). I feel so sorry for you and your poor knee!!
Ugh, sounds quite painful!!! I do get up early in the AM to work out but that's because I always find a reason to get out of it if I leave it until after work. It works for me but it's definitely tough to get up at 5 AM. I just remind myself that I don't have do it after work and I somehow muster up the energy to get out of bed!

Oh my gosh. I'm sending you an ice pack, and directions for how to sit in your car. Bless your heart.
I refuse to send workout advice, because i don't work out, note the refusal.
oh no, that is the worst pain and it is making me sick just reading about that, even though you will have a sweet bruise...guys dig bruises...right?
Oh.My.Goodness. I hope your knee is feeling ok!
Getting motivated is hard...some days I just sit around thinking that I really need to get my butt in gear and work out...then this always pops in my head... " if you would have done it when you first started thinking about it, you'd be done already" then I get mad at myself and do it! lol
Oh love! I'm sorry that you smashed your knee! I promise I'm giggling with you...you're giggling now, right? :)
My advice on working out: action creates motivation, not the other way around. Three weeks to create a habit. 30 minutes, 5x a week. And it doesn't have to be M-F...seven days in a week...five of those spent making yourself healthy...YOU'VE GOT THIS (after you knee heals...). YOU ROCK! :)

I'm trying for morning workouts! It is tough. I did it twice this week, so hopefully it will be a little easier next week.
Girl, I have been living by that tip for YEARS! haha.
That's what I do. When I get off of work, the last thing I want to do it work out!
I need those directions, for real. The ice pack would be nice, too.
I noted it. I want to refuse..but I need muscles..
I've been having trouble opening restaurant doors. I need muscles.
It's a looker for sure!
I love that! That's what I'm going to start saying to myself!
Following you back!
Oh I was definitely giggling when I wrote this! :)
I love your advice!!! Action creates motivation. Love it!
Thank you!
