Shoes and Such

I have a confession to make.  I haven't exercised (regularly) for....well, I honestly don't know how long.  I've been trying to change that!  To exercise, you need tennis shoes, right?  The last pair of tennis shoes I bought was when I was in ninth grade (I guess I'm not a tennis shoe girl).  So whenever I exercise, I whip out those bad boys and get to it.  Unfortunately,  I was told yesterday, that I couldn't wear those tennis shoes anymore.  Why? Because they were seven years old? No.  Because, according to my husband, they were ugly.  I will admit, they weren't the prettiest things I've ever seen, but I didn't think tennis shoes were supposed to be pretty.  So he took me to Hibbetts.  We walked in and went to the shoe wall.  He asked me to point out the shoe that I would buy.  I looked at all of my options and then pointed one out.  He started laughing and guess what he said? Autumn, that is the ugliest shoe on the wall.  I never claimed to be a tennis shoe guru, so I wasn't offended.  Take me to DSW with pumps, flats and boots....in there I am a guru, but tennis shoes at Hibbetts? Not so much.  So I told Tyler he could pick them out.  These were his choice.

I actually like them.  Tennis shoe shopping will be his job from now on.  I walked a mile yesterday evening, and HOPEFULLY I will eventually (slowly) work my way up to running *gasp*.  One step at a time...one step at a time.

So in addition to walking/running....I also fell prey to an infomercial.  Are you ready for this? I am the proud ower of ROCKIN BODY!  Do you remember "Sweatin' to the Oldies"?  Well Rockin' Body is like that, but even better.  No neon spandex required.  It's from the maker of "Insanity," Shaun T, so I thought it was pretty legit.  It's supposed to be a dance party, and he teaches you the dance moves.  Even if it doesn't give me a rockin' body, at least I'm having fun!
Oh, funny story.
This morning, I was ironing Tyler's work clothes when I heard him yell.  OH MY GOSH, MY FOOT! What did I step on????   I heard him turn on the light.  Tyler? What happened?  The heel of your tan pump was sticking up and I stepped on it!  Right here, my response should have been, I'm sorry! Is your foot okay???  Instead, my response was, Oh no! did you break my shoe???  No babe, your shoe is fine, thanks for asking!  I've been laughing about that all morning.

Does anyone have any good tips to help me with exercising and staying motivated???
Happy Wednesday!

Your new tennis shoes are super cute. I had the same thing happen a couple of months ago I still only own one pair of tennis shoes. I set a alarm on my cell phone for every other day it reminds me to workout.

Oh, friend, I am in the same boat. Tennis shoes... what are those? I don't buy them because, lets be real, I'd much rather spend money on boots....flats... you know :)

Thanks!! That's a good idea, I'm going to have to try it! I set alarms for almost everything else, so it just might work!
